The 2nd day in Kota Kinabalu, lazy moring, enjoy swimming, and sunset spot in Shangri-la hotel. 

2nd day in Kota Kinabalu

Lazy morning

Good morning, Kota Kinabalu! Wearing the pajamas which I brought from Korea, I enjoyed the local Sabah tea. (This pajama set is the most satisfacting purchase I've ever done in 2022. So I bought exactly same one again, LOL)

The 2nd-day Sea view was the same as the day before. WHY you don't show me the sunshine morning!! :( 

After breakfast buffet at cafe TATU, I stopped by the washroom in the lobby. Surprisingly this was not artifical flower. I even touched it to check it! 

Let's take a morning walk! 

At the left wing of Shangri-la, there was a small garden with more palm trees. I could imagine how the oppoisite symmetiric part would look at the east wing. (It was under construction)  

By the time we got to the beach, luckily the sky was clear and so cool to walk around after having a full breakfast. 

Far away, we could see the famous sunset bar, but it didn't look spacious enough to accomodate all of the people who want to enjoy the sunset moment. 

In between CHI spa and sunset bar, there is a small sand beach. Somebody left the letter 'STAR' on the sand. Probably one of the staff would do. It would be better if it was 'LOVE' or 'PEACE' though. 

 

There were swings and this was a photo spot to capture sunset. But by the sunset time, you better to come earlier, cuz there was a long queue for photos. 

Even though it is not sunset timing, this is good spot to take an instagrammable photo. I know, I am not that photogenic.  

but I think, walking around the beach with morning messy hair is one of the virtues in vacation time, isn't it? who cares,,

If you go further east, there is a pier and sunshade, that's Star marina where you can book water activities or boats. 

Behind Star-marina, I found a clownfish discovery center. Well, it looked quite humble and shabby to be called 'discovery center'. 

Although it was not fancy at all, if you brought your kids, they would love to watch different types of clownfish in the tanks.

Enjoy swimming

one day one swimming time,, what else could I do? Doing nothing was exactly what I wanted to do. 

Here, I looked like enjoying doing nothing, but actually, I was hesitating to ask kids to lend me their swimming glasses for a while. I couldn't put my head underwater due to my contacts. oh, stupid myself, I should've brought it. 

After a few hours, we started to feel hungry and ordered a menu called 'Rice Burger'. It was served with some chips. But the very first looking was embarassing. Broken rice bunch and sunny side up. Well, if we wouldn't be hungry, definitely we hadn't ordered it at all. 

After swimming back in our room, sunshine was back in the afternoon. Not bad ocean veiw. 

Wanting a hot bath, I filled the tub and I was quite surprised at the color of water. 

For sure, you better take the bottled still water, provided by Shangri-la. I used this water for brushing teeth as well.

Before heading out for dinner, we stopped by the sunset spot. Near the sunset bar, there were a lot of families and couples appreciating for sunset. 

In spite of the backlight, this is really good photo spot. Don't pay for the sunset bar. It isn't worth it.

The only bad thing was that there were some tourists enjoying the sunset paddle boat in the sea. They were in the sea while we were on the ground. We had to enjoy the sunset behind them. 

Burning sun

Sunset time is only for about 30 minutes. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset here fully, and moved to the downtown to enjoy nice local foods. 

The restaurant was strongly recommended for everyone who comes here!
